Op 24 februari komt het debuutalbum Devil Is Fine van Zeal & Ardor wereldwijd uit via ADA/MVKA Music. Zeal & Ardor is de Zwitsers/Amerikaanse muzikant Manuel Gagneux. Manuel over het album: “Christianity was imposed upon American slaves (just as it was imposed in Norway) and black metal in the ‘90s grew as a rebellion to monotheism. What would have happened if American slaves had rebelled in the same way? Or put bluntly: what would satanic spirituals sound like?”
“Nothing released this year is as strange, inscrutable or wonderful than Zeal & Ardor’s Devil is Fine,” volgens Rolling Stone US, die het debuutalbum prijst met “a dream world of infinite possibilities.” Devil Is Fine is een mix van black metal, field recordings, delta blues, jazz, ring shouts, music box melodies, glitchy hip-hop beats, soul and gospel.
Het album was tot nu toe in kleine oplage verkrijgbaar, de band tekende onlangs bij MVKA Music en Devil Is Fine wordt nu wereldwijd uitgebracht.
