Muziekicoon Mavis Staples brengt op 2 juni een live-album en concertfilm uit: Mavis Staples: I’ll Take You There – An All-Star Concert Celebration. Het twee uur durende concert werd opgenomen in het Chicago Auditorium Theatre en bevat meer dan 20 optredens van onder andere Bonnie Raitt, Jeff Tweedy, Win Butler & Régine Chassagne (Arcade Fire) en Glen Hansard.
Mavis Staples over de concertavond: “That night was really special. To be able to see so many of my friends up there performing songs that I’ve sung for years was just incredible. I couldn’t wait to get up there and take the stage myself! It was a night I’ll never forget.”
