De half Italiaanse, half Ierse zanger en muzikant Fil Bo Riva heeft vandaag zijn nieuwe single Head Sonata (Love Control) uitgebracht via 12.50 Records. Head Sonata (Love Control) is de eerste single van het debuutalbum dat in 2018 verschijnt.
Fil Bo Riva bracht eind 2016 zijn debuut-EP If You’re Right, It’s Alright uit en sindsdien ging het hard. Het begon als soloproject, maar werd al snel uitgebreid tot een vierkoppige band. 2017 was een jaar van contrasten; aan de ene kant de wereld over toeren (zo stond hij dit jaar al op Best Kept Secret), veel mensen leren kennen en een fanbase zien groeien. Maar tussen die bedrijven door moest hij zich steeds terugtrekken, zich van de wereld afsluiten en in de studio aan zijn debuutalbum te werken.
De nieuwe single Head Sonata (Love Control) is een beat-gedreven, catchy nummer geworden. “The title Head Sonata was just meant to be a name placeholder at the start. The song was built around the chorus guitar riff and the first time I heard Felix (guitarist) play it, I felt my head spinning and it immediately gave me a trippy and repetitive feeling. A few minutes later I had the title written down. I simply liked the sound of it. These two words somehow translated my imagination of the songs soundscape… And since the track didn’t have any lyrics nor a melody for the first few months, the word ‘sonata’, literally meaning a piece played, actually suited the song very good. Finally, a breeze of inspiration came to my mind, I wrote down the lyrics and the song was finished. A ‘Head Sonata’ was born“, aldus Fil Bo Riva.
Fil Bo Riva staat deze maand in het voorprogramma van Milky Chance. De Europese tour start vandaag in Antwerpen. In 2018 komt Fil Bo Riva terug voor headlineshows.
