Fink heeft zijn nieuwe studio-album Bloom Innocent aangekondigd. Deze alweer zevende langspeler, die Resurgam uit 2017 opvolgt en wederom in samenwerking met de geprezen producer Flood tot stand is gekomen, verschijnt op 25 oktober.
Op Bloom Innocent is een man met een missie te horen. Hierover zegt de populaire Brit: “It’s a spacious, capacious, eight-track wonder glowing with a delicate piano, ear-tingling guitar and soulful, woody vocals.”
Hij gaat verder: “Bloom Innocent feels like a classic album from the future. We have dug deep into the idea of the studio as an instrument and of the album as artwork. So, yes, only eight tracks, and, yes, some of them were recorded live, if the moment and the feeling and the ambience was just right.”
“The sonics have been lost a little bit these days. Think of the great Pink Floyd records or classic Radiohead records. I yearn for that time, for that attention to detail, for that sonic landscape. It’s not just about guitar, bass, drums and keys. It’s about creating an atmosphere.”
Tegelijk met de albumaankondiging werd in navolging van de single We Watch The Stars, de titeltrack uitgebracht.
In november gaat Fink op tour door Europa. Op 21 november spelen ze in AFAS Live, Amsterdam.
