De in Berlijn wonende Italiaanse zanger en muzikant Fil Bo Riva brengt op 22 maart 2019 zijn langverwachte debuutalbum Beautiful Sadness uit. Go Rilla is de nieuwe single afkomstig van het album.
Fil Bo Riva is genomineerd voor beste Singer/Songwriter bij de Music Moves Europe Talent Awards (de nieuwe EU prijs die tijdens ESNS zal worden uitgereikt). 
 
Go Rilla is een dynamisch en typisch indie-pop en indie-rock liedje. Met aanstekelijke elektrische gitaarriffs en een slimme ‘hook’.
Fil Bo Riva over de single Go Rilla:
“I first came up with the idea to the song in Manchester in 2016 while supporting Joan As Police Woman through Europe that winter. It was raining outside and I was in the bathroom just before soundcheck… somehow I started staring at this poster of the club we were playing called Gorilla Club. I don’t know why but I just got a flash inspiration, took my phone out and immediately started singing the chorus melody and words. Everything else developed some time after when I found other lyrics I had written down after a dream… most of these words suited what I had in mind and so it just ended up being what it is now: a song about unbridled passion and the rapturous idea of escaping the real world.”
 
En Fil Bo Riva over de video:
“I’ve always loved movies from the 60s like „Blow Up“ by Antonioni or „Help!“ by Richard Lester and the whole look of it. But what I loved the most was that little weird mystery behind it and the strange humor that somehow attracts you and you don’t know why. Go Rilla as a song was certainly inspired by the feeling of unbridled passion and the rapturous idea of escaping the real world and I wanted to somehow translate this kind of „other world“ into the video for the song and the album in general. A few weeks ago I got to know Marie, who ended up directing this video, and we got talking… we really liked her past work so we told her about our vision of creating a story concept that would combine more songs. Some of the new tracks actually morph into the other so we tried to created a whole story around it. Soon after we flew to London to record the video and found ourselves in the middle of this huge crew including so many great actors, dancers and some friends. Thank you all! This is gonna be the first part of a continuing story and we hope you’ll love like we do.”

Line up Naked Song festival 2018 compleet

Indie singer-songwriterfestival Naked Song op zaterdag 14 april in Muziekgebouw Eindhoven maakt de line up compleet.

Zo is er de aanstormende artiest van eigen bodem Pitou, die ook in Groot-Brittannië flink aan de weg timmert. Daarnaast de Brit Jono McCleery die onlangs zijn nieuwe soulvolle album Sees of a Dandelion uitbracht. Ook worden er een paar mooie rootsnamen toegevoegd aan het affiche: het trio Sheesham and Lotus & ‘Son, Wink Burcham met zijn rauwe en ontroerende stem en de tijdloze Americana en folk van Session Americana. Verder eert het festival zijn lokale helden: David Henry van rockband Grim Tim doet een solo-set en Woody Veneman is er in de gedaante van Human Jukebox. De kaartverkoop is reeds gestart via www.nakedsong.nl, de website van Muziekgebouw Eindhoven en Ticketmaster.

Naked Song 2018
Het festival gaat dit jaar terug naar de basis: het brengen van mooie luisterliedjes waarbij artiest en publiek dichtbij elkaar komen. Dat is immers de essentie: singer-songwriters die hun persoonlijke verhalen overbrengen. In een gemoedelijke en intieme festivalsfeer kijk je elkaar recht in de ogen. Het gaat echt om die liedjes, die soms letterlijk worden uitgekleed tot een naakte versie. Sommige artiesten spelen een (akoestische) solo-set en er zijn weer de 2 Meter Sessies met kleine akoestische optredens en interviews. Dit jaar presenteert Naked Song een zorgvuldig samengestelde line up van indie singer-songwriters van nu zoals Lisa Hannigan, Tamino, Tom McRae en Sam Lee, het eerbetoon aan geestelijk vader Ad van Meurs en aanstormend talent als Christof van der Ven, Chelou en Fil Bo Riva. De bezoeker wordt aangespoord zich ook te laten verrassen door (nog) onbekende artiesten; ieder verhaal is het immers waard gedeeld te worden.

De half Italiaanse, half Ierse zanger en muzikant Fil Bo Riva brengt vandaag zijn nieuwe single Head Sonata (Love Control) uit via 12.50 Records. Head Sonata (Love Control) is de eerste single van het debuutalbum wat in 2018 zal verschijnen.

Fil Bo Riva bracht eind 2016 zijn debuut EP If You’re Right, It’s Alright uit en sindsdien ging het hard. Het begon als solo project, maar werd al snel uitgebreid tot een vierkoppige band. 2017 was een jaar van contrasten; aan de ene kant de wereld over touren (zo stond hij vorig jaar al op Best Kept Secret), veel mensen leren kennen en een fanbase zien groeien. Maar tussen die bedrijven door moest hij zich steeds terugtrekken, zich van de wereld afsluiten en in de studio aan zijn debuutalbum te werken.

De nieuwe single Head Sonata (Love Control) is een beat-gedreven, catchy nummer geworden.“The title ‘Head Sonata’ was just meant to be a name placeholder at the start. The song was built around the chorus guitar riff and the first time I heard Felix (guitarist) play it, I felt my head spinning and it immediately gave me a trippy and repetitive feeling. A few minutes later I had the title written down. I simply liked the sound of it. These two words somehow translated my imagination of the songs soundscape… And since the track didn’t have any lyrics nor a melody for the first few months, the word ‘sonata’, literally meaning a piece played, actually suited the song very good. Finally, a breeze of inspiration came to my mind, I wrote down the lyrics and the song was finished. A ‘Head Sonata’ was born.“  – aldus Fil Bo Riva.
