Musicmaker Release van de Week
Het album Leave What You Know van harpist Remy van Kesteren is een ‘labour of love’; hij werkte er zeven jaar aan. De songs die hij schreef waren oorspronkelijk instrumentaal maar vroegen om vocalen. Hij ging aan de slag met Robin Kester, Kim Janssen, Pitou, Marcel Veenendaal (DI-RECT), Someone/Tessa Rose Jackson, Luwten, Nana Adjoa, Banji en Roufaida.
Met hen afzonderlijk probeerde hij de demo’s af te maken, maar omdat zij ook zo hun eigen werkwijze hebben, resulteerde dat juist in veel nieuw werk. Het resultaat is dit prachtige album. We laten twee tracks horen. Remy van Kesteren – Leave What You Know is de Musicmaker Release van de Week

Woensdag om 20:00 uur Tricky Dicky met Radio Rodeo op Pinguin Indie.
Radio Rodeo werpt elke week een blik op muziek die je niet of nauwelijks (nog) op de radio hoort. Met elke week een aantal vaste items: de lekkere lange, een vette live-track en een mooie 2 Meter Sessie.
Een tip van de sluier? De onderwerpen zijn onder andere vaseline, bananen, nicotine en honden.

On May 22nd, Nijmegen-based guitar-driven pop band Hausse drops their new single “Melbourne”, a stirring track that blends emotional depth with lush, layered sparkling guitar work leading you into the summer. The song addresses boundaries and emotional tension with a warm, easygoing sound and a laid-back energy.
Hausse—formed by longtime friends Aran (vocals/guitar), Frank (guitar), Harm (bass), and Mike (drums)—channels years of shared musical history into music that’s introspective, melodic, and uplifting. “Melbourne” follows their latest single Borderline, showing the band confidently expanding its sound.
Known for their gripping live shows, Hausse has performed in major venues including Paradiso (Amsterdam), 013 (Tilburg), and Vega (Copenhagen). Earlier in their career, the band was a finalist in the global Bodog Battle of the Bands, competing for a $1 million recording deal.

Pinguin Radio en Popmagazine Heaven delen twee belangrijke eigenschappen: een passie voor goede muziek en een volstrekt onafhankelijke opstelling. Dat moest natuurlijk tot een samenwerking leiden.
Heaven verzorgt iedere dinsdagavond van 22:00 tot 23:00 een uur lang de muziek op Pinguin Radio. Net als Pinguin heeft Heaven oor voor – bijna – alle popmuziek. In het uurtje radio hoor je muziek uit verschillende genres: (classic)rock, roots, folk, soul, world, jazz en blues.
