Vanavond om 20:00 uur CHAOS Music Magazine Radio #108

Pinguin Vintage wordt 40 jaar en ouder

Pinguin Vintage gaat verbreden, want vanaf vandaag niet alleen meer 50’s, 60’s en 70’s, maar wordt er muziek van 40 jaar en ouder gedraaid. Vintage stapt dus de jaren ’80 in en elk jaar komt er een jaartje bij. Oftewel meer muziek = meer muziekgenot!

Pinguin Vintage Radio draait 24/7 liedjes van 40 jaar en ouder met veel aandacht voor de vergeten hit(je)s, elpeetracks, de American Billboard en onbekende liedjes die het waard zijn om gehoord te worden veelvuldig aangevuld met natuurlijk de grote hits. Geen nieuws, geen weerberichten en geen reclame. No bullshit, just great music!

Pinguin Radio presenteert om 22:00 uur Heaven Radio #358

Pinguin Radio en Popmagazine Heaven delen twee belangrijke eigenschappen: een passie voor goede muziek en een volstrekt onafhankelijke opstelling. Dat moest natuurlijk tot een samenwerking leiden.

Heaven verzorgt iedere dinsdagavond van 22:00 tot 23:00 een uur lang de muziek op Pinguin Radio. Net als Pinguin heeft Heaven oor voor – bijna – alle popmuziek. In het uurtje radio hoor je muziek uit verschillende genres: (classic)rock, roots, folk, soul, world, jazz en blues.

Liefhebbers van Heaven Radio luisteren natuurlijk ook naar ons zachtere zusje Pinguin Pluche.

This is the brand new EP of Shar-C. Composed, written and sung by Shar-C.
Reggaeton with a twist. Not the common reggaeton.
Reggaeton is in need of innovation.

Shar-C combines basic reggaeton with European influences. You can hear that in the beat, but also in the melody line.
Shar-C arranges the music himself and together with his team they fine-tune it. He plays some instruments himself.
What Shar-C is trying to do is to bring a breath of fresh air to the world of reggaeton.
Shar-C’s lyrics are based on his own experiences.

Who is Shar-C
Bio:

As a youth, Shar-C grew-up living on a farm in the western part of Curaçao with his brother, grandmother, aunts, uncles and nephews. His mother worked on the eastside of the island and his father lived abroad. When he turned 7 years old he moved to a neighborhood called Ghetto in the middle of Curaçao with his mother and 5 years older brother. In spite of all the problems he had to face growing up, Shar-C’s escape remained music.
He won his first talent show at the age of 11. From that point on he was hooked and never stopped making music. As a teen on his home island of Curacao he organized music projects with local children, wrote for other musicians and DJs and performed for large groups of fans.
At the age of 17 Shar-C moved to Holland. A few years later he obtained his degree in social work. He has been working as a youth counselor for the last 15 years. Although he’s loved working with young people, making music has remained his number one passion.
Shar-C has played with different bands and solo artists in and around Amsterdam and has been contracted by major record companies and publishers.
Now with new found inspiration Shar-C has taken his Caribbean influence along with a sprinkle of Dutch-European flavor to create a fresh new Reggaeton sound. Check it for yourself and you will see that you cannot stand still.

Over 140 dagen staan we met z’n allen op de festivalweide in Landgraaf. Speciaal daarom kondigt het Limburgse festival vandaag een flinke groep nieuwe namen aan! Deze 17 artiesten staan komende zomer op de podia:

Op vrijdag 16 juni: Picture This, Maisie Peters, The Haunted Youth en Lauren Sanderson toe aan het programma.

Xavier Rudd, Kevin & The Animals, Tove Lo, The Driver Era, Go_A en The Jordan reizen op de Pinkpop-zaterdag naar Landgraaf af.

En naast o.a. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Machine Gun Kelly en OneRepublic staan nu ook Tom Odell, Warpaint, Gayle, Dylan, The Lathums, Brutus en Upsahl op de slotdag van Pinkpop 2023.

18 nieuwe namen Dauwpop Festival

Met de toevoeging van een aanzienlijke rij nieuwe acts maakt de organisatie het nog aantrekkelijker voor muziekliefhebbers in binnen- en buitenland om op 2 juni af te reizen naar Hellendoorn om vervolgens pas op 3 of juni of later weer huiswaarts te keren. Ook dit jaar is Dauwpop, net als vorig jaar, weer twee dagen en de rij namen op het affiche is indrukwekkend te noemen. Vandaag voegt Dauwpop onder meer het Noorse Madrugada (NO), My Baby, Joost, Bökkers, Gotu Jim en Claude toe.

Ook Stone (UK), Wodan Boys, Los Bitchos (UK), Kris Kross Amsterdam, sor, High Vis (UK), Cor, gladde paling, Coach Party (UK), Natte Visstick, Marathon en Fiesta Macumba Soundsystem zijn te vinden op de vrijdag of zaterdag op het festivalterrein in de Hellendoornse bossen. Eind vorig jaar ging de voorverkoop voor de 27e editie van start met de bekendmaking van The Prodigy, Franz Ferdinand, Son Mieux, The Opposites, Goldband, Danny Vera, The Haunted Youth, DeWolff, Personal Trainer, Tramhaus, Sophie Staat, Prins S. en de Geit en Elephant. De exacte verdeling van de in totaal inmiddels dertig acts (er volgen er nog meer) wordt binnenkort bekend gemaakt….

Vanavond om 19:00 uur Bandpraat Radio #3 vanaf Penguin Showcases

Zo’n 230+ bands hebben afgelopen weekend gespeeld op Penguin Showcases in de Drie Gezusters in Groningen tijdens ESNS. Misschien ken je Timo Epping nog wel als presentator van de Snob 2000 vorige maand. Maar de frontman van Rufusking maakt ook de podcast Bandpraat, waarin hij inderdaad praat met bands. Als een razende reporter heeft hij zoveel mogelijk acts getackeld (vaak nog helemaal bezweet na het optreden) in het doolhof genaamd de Drie Gezusters voor een rustig, intiem gesprekje bij de open haard in het naastgelegen hotel. Je hoort deze korte interviews + muziek van 19:00 tot 20:00 deze week op dinsdag, woensdag en donderdag op Pinguin Radio (Indie).

Met vanavond: Inge Lamboo, Rocket Chair, Hilin, Velveteen Rabbit, Yellofox en Bliss.
