Caroline Benelux is een muzieklabel dat zich grotendeels richt op indie en alternatieve muziek. Het jonge enthousiaste Benelux team is onderdeel van Caroline International dat kantoren heeft over de hele wereld. Caroline is een revival van het in 1973 opgerichte Caroline Label, dat oorspronkelijk door Richard Branson werd opgericht om platen uit te brengen binnen zijn eigen muzikale passie: alternatieve prog-rock. DeWolff o.a. naar Burgerweeshuis, TivoliVredenburg en Gebouw-T

Begin mei 2018 tekende DeWolff bij Mascot Records om hun 6e studioalbum ‘THRUST’ wereldwijd uit te brengen. De tijd was rijp om hun meest ambitieuze en eigentijdse album tot nu toe te maken. De band wilde een album dat modern klonk, in tegenstelling tot de vorige albums die allemaal “vintage” klinken en in de jaren ’70 gemaakt hadden kunnen worden.

Tien jaar band zijn en hun grootste plaat tot nu toe willen produceren, heeft ‘THRUST’ tot een volledige weergave van de ‘DeWolff live ervaring’ gemaakt. Het eindresultaat is een album dat niet per se klinkt als een live album, maar wel dezelfde energie heeft. Op het podium blijft DeWolff een avontuur dat je niet snel vergeet: onuitputtelijke energie, grandioos muzikantschap en grenzeloos enthousiasme.

BOOGIE MONSTER
In hun geliefde Deventer brouwden de vijf mannen van Boogie Monster een uniek recept: groovy rock ‘n roll. Dat is swingende bluesrock met een scheutje pop en een snufje soul. Deze oude bekenden vonden elkaar na omwegen langs talloze bands en genres eind 2017. Samen zijn zij sterker dan ooit: een échte zanger met een Motown-waardige band. Met een boogie hier en een shuffle daar garandeert Boogie Monster altijd een energieke liveshow. Knallende en catchy songs gebracht met voelbare eerlijkheid en een grote glimlach. Begin 2019 komt de debuut EP uit. Een must voor fans van The Rolling Stones, The Meters of Steely Dan.

Groningse artiesten in de spotlight tijdens Pinguin Radio Showcases 

Van woensdag 16 januari t/m vrijdag 18 januari branden we los met Pinguin Radio showcases, official side-program van Eurosonic Noorderslag. Hier ontdek je de nieuwste, hipste, vetste en nog relatief onbekendste bandjes, zoals de winnaars van de 2 minutenshow. Maar op woensdagavond hebben we voor de bands uit het mooie Groningen iets speciaals in petto.

Speciaal voor Groningse bands
Op woensdagavond 16 januari zijn er twee podia gereserveerd voor Groningse bands die zich hier kunnen opgeven, natuurlijk met dezelfde kansen als de bands van de 2 minutenshow.

Daarnaast zullen tussen 17:00 en 20:0 en tussen 00:30 en 03:00 allerlei showcases verzorgt worden door pro’s uit de muziekwereld. Labels, Bookers, Managers, Festivals kunnen een stage hosten en daar acts laten optreden waarvan zij denken dat ze de wereld gaan veroveren. ESNS verzorgt naast het blokkenschema van het reguliere programma ook een blokkenschema met alle “side programs” op een rij waar dit ook in opgenomen is.

Pinguin Radio Showcases: Groningen in de Spotlight

Therapy? in januari o.a. naar Muziekgieterij en Melkweg

Inmiddels bestaat de Noord-Ierse rockband Therapy? al negenentwintig jaar. Met de toegankelijke mix van rock, punk en metal en hits als ‘Screamager’, ‘Nowhere’, ‘Die Laughing’ en natuurlijk Husker Du’s ‘Diane’ is de band rond frontman Andy Cairns al sinds de jaren negentig een graag geziene gast op Nederlandse festivals en podia.

Naast die nummers kunnen we tijdens het optreden ook enkele nieuwe Therapy? songs verwachten want inmiddels is hun vijftiende studioalbum, ‘Cleave’ verschenen, de follow-up van het befaamde ‘Disquiet’ uit 2015.
