Vanuit onze passie voor het ontdekken, ervaren en verzamelen van muziek, bouwen wij (Renate, Rene en Roland) een platenzaak met nieuwe en tweedehands vinyl en CD’s; met gevestigde namen en aanstormend talent; met veel moois voor muzikale omnivoren en audiofiele fijnproevers.

Pinguin Radio presenteert om 22:00 uur Heaven Radio #383

Pinguin Radio en Popmagazine Heaven delen twee belangrijke eigenschappen: een passie voor goede muziek en een volstrekt onafhankelijke opstelling. Dat moest natuurlijk tot een samenwerking leiden.

Heaven verzorgt iedere dinsdagavond van 22:00 tot 23:00 een uur lang de muziek op Pinguin Radio. Net als Pinguin heeft Heaven oor voor – bijna – alle popmuziek. In het uurtje radio hoor je muziek uit verschillende genres: (classic)rock, roots, folk, soul, world, jazz en blues.

Liefhebbers van Heaven Radio luisteren natuurlijk ook naar ons zachtere zusje Pinguin Pluche.

Ook bij ons is de comeback van Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, David Roundtree en Alex James dus geheel volgens plan verlopen. Het wachten op het nieuwe album, The Ballad Of Darren is ook voorbij, want dat is afgelopen vrijdag uitgekomen in alle mogelijke formats, cassette, cd gekleurd vinyl, de hele santenkraam. De geluidsdragers zijn ook bij je lokale platenboer te koop. Voor t-shirts posters, caps of sweaters moet je op hun site zijn, of bij een van hun concerten. Bijvoorbeeld de Lokerse feesten.

Popwarmer: Bombay Bicycle Club – Diving (feat. Holly Humberstone)

Terwijl My Big Day nog in de Graadmeter staat lanceert Bombay Bicycle Club de tweede smaakmaker Diving van het aankomende album, tevens My Big Day. Diving is een niet heel bijzonder nummer, maar doet heerlijk zomers en melodieus aan. Het opvallendste aan de track is de samenwerking met rising star Holly Humberstone; een Britse indiepop zangeres. De stemmen van Holly en BBC-frontman Jack Steadman smelten heerlijk samen. Zo weet de onderhand indieveteraan zich nog steeds opnieuw uit te vinden en actueel te blijven. Gaan we een guest appearance zien op de festivals? 17 augustus is Pukkelpop aan de beurt en een dag later staat Lowlands op de agenda. Geen festivalganger? Op 27 en 28 november speelt de band twee avonden in The Max van de Melkweg.
