POL – NEW PROJECT PRESENTED BY RUBEN AND MATTHIJS POL – ‘COMME ÇA’ OUT NOW

Dutch new wave sibling/producer duo Ruben Pol and Matthijs Pol have shared the first cut from their new musical project POL – stream ‘Comme Ça’ here – https://newa.ms/commecaPR

Written, performed and produced by Ruben and Matthijs, and mixed by Dave Bascombe (Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears, Erasure), ‘Comme Ça’ is an affecting slice of new wave – replacing digitally produced sounds for analog synths and drum machine samples. Disconcerting and complex, speaking further about the track they say “Creating this track felt like telling a story, giving the listener a sort of ominous feeling each time. Taking the song from the demo to the final product took various steps. We can’t really recall in what order we did things, we were mainly sailing on intuition.”

“The song is about experiencing a disconnect with current society. The girl is being used as a metaphor for society as a whole. There is a sense of absolute loneliness. Not being able to connect with anyone on any level – but then somehow accepting that and drawing energy from it, symbolised in the energy of the music.”

Lesse – Break Out!

Break Out (Acoustic) is the newest release from emerging artist Lesse.
 Recorded live in Bullet Sound studios in The Netherlands, this acoustic setting has a rather intimate touch, while still driving on its uplifting origins. It consists of Lesse’s signature voice, backed by just guitar.

Break Out is a a song of perseverance and tells about self-doubt and pushing through, alternately. This acoustic version arose spontaneously during a studio Jam session. Break Out was originally written for The COC Songfestival, advocating Diversity & Inclusivity.

Lesse’s sound and voice might distantly remind you of artists like Sting and Tears for Fears.
With his tempting synth-pop and heart breaking ballads Lesse has various fanbase communities around the world. Break Out (Acoustic) is a refreshing addition to his growing discography.
