Dada’s Troost releases single “Clear Sky”

Dada’s Troost releases “Clear Sky”.

Clear Sky is a song about hope. “While writing, we faced a dark period in our personal lives. Sad events were piling up, we just wanted a clear sky to come”. Musically, the song is an electronic rock song with a strong hook, fierce vocals, and a surprising 90’s alternative bridge. These ingredients make it a one-of-a-kind song which is original and catchy at the same time.

Dada’s Troost is an art-rock trio from the Netherlands, which was formed by vocalist / bassist Pieter van den Berkmortel in 2013. The aim was a bass focused band, and due to the freaky lyrics and heavy bass riffs the band was soon called “The Dutch Primus”. Over the years, the music evolved to a mature blend of electronic / alternative rock and funk rock.

The upcoming album “Becky Stage Ladder” will be released May 17, 2024.

Samira’s Blues presents SALAM/ PEACE

The musical lines of Samira’s Blues follow the Moroccan roots of Amsterdam based lead singer and songwriter Samira Dainan and take you through the Moroccan Sahara to the Malian shore on the other side. A fifty day walk, says the sign in M’Hamid el Ghizlane, the last village before the desert begins. The band covers the same distance in a few minutes: from subdued dreamy pieces to outright desert guitar, with which they have already caused a stir in Niger – thanks to Facebook.

Now Samira’s Blues is presenting their new EP “Salam”/ Peace in a tour through The Netherlands and Morocco. Starting with Paradiso Amsterdam Tolhuistuin.

Their focus on original compositions and interpretation of traditional songs is strongly recognised by the scenes they work with and are inspired by.

DUST return with new single ‘TRUST U SEE’ ahead of UK/EU tour with Interpol

APRIL 24th – Ascendant Australian post-punk outfit dust have returned with their first treat of new music in a year, new single ‘TRUST U SEE’ – ahead of an arena tour in support of Interpol in October & November.

In the year since their debut EP dust have worked to valiantly graduate from in demand support act into a seasoned live outfit. Appearances at The Great Escape, BIGSOUND, SXSW (Sydney and Austin) alongside multi-date tours supporting Interpol and Bloc Party nationally to Hockey Dad across the UK. Today’s release ‘TRUST U SEE’ is the clearest example of dust’s live show prowess. A set staple that converts first time audience members to buzz-wielding adherents, leaving dust on the cusp of everyone’s lips come performance end. Arriving with video by Nicola Jankovic, ‘TRUST U SEE’ buoys with the driving punk that’s seen the group continue to rise, with ebb and flow steered by dust’s emblematic saxophone.

‘TRUST U SEE’, in their own words, is an “alarming and visceral sonic exploration of both literal and underlying feelings. Justin’s literal lyrical recount of searching for pain relief and feeling frustrated is paralleled with metaphorical messages of trust, relationships and frustration. TRUST U SEE became a staple opening song in the live set, forming it organically into the final version of the song before taking it to the studio. We were able to have a new outlook on recording and experimentation. It was our first time recording properly in a studio and we were able to be very hands on and take time in post production to get the song to express what we wanted.”

The group prepare for a hefty string of dates returning to support Interpol across the UK and Europe joined by Iceage. More locally, dust will join Armlock at their upcoming Naarm / Melbourne appearance in May. With hometown shows that assert their position as “the stars of the night,” (Beat Magazine), where the wind will blow dust in 2024 is guaranteed to be both seen and heard.

‘TRUST U SEE’ is out now and was mastered by Barry Grint (King Krule, Kamasi Washington, R.E.M).
