Pinguin Radio presenteert om 22:00 uur Heaven Radio #367

Pinguin Radio en Popmagazine Heaven delen twee belangrijke eigenschappen: een passie voor goede muziek en een volstrekt onafhankelijke opstelling. Dat moest natuurlijk tot een samenwerking leiden.

Heaven verzorgt iedere dinsdagavond van 22:00 tot 23:00 een uur lang de muziek op Pinguin Radio. Net als Pinguin heeft Heaven oor voor – bijna – alle popmuziek. In het uurtje radio hoor je muziek uit verschillende genres: (classic)rock, roots, folk, soul, world, jazz en blues.

Liefhebbers van Heaven Radio luisteren natuurlijk ook naar ons zachtere zusje Pinguin Pluche.

De Amsterdamse band Cloud Cafe schrijft bezielde indierocknummers met folky roots. Bespiegelende teksten, en het weigeren om oneffenheden glad te strijken resulteert bij de wat zonderlinge groep in een ontwapenend geheel. Met nog geen jaar samen op het podium, debuteert de band op Excelsior Recordings. Hun nieuwe single genaamd ‘Some Times’ is net uitgebracht en op vrijdag 31 maart verschijnt hun debuut-EP, die op dezelfde dag gepresenteerd zal worden in Paradiso.

Pinguin Radio en de Volkskrant slaan de handen ineen voor een maandelijkse radio-uitzending waarin de luisteraar bij de hand wordt genomen langs de beste albums en de beste tracks van het moment.

Op Pinguin Radio draaien we elke week zo veel mogelijk nieuwe releases, de hoogste nieuwe binnenkomer, de klimmer van de week en uiteraard veel tracks uit de top 10.

CVC, or Church Village Collective in full, named their band after the sleepy Welsh town they come from and, if they have it their way, will soon bring international renown to their hometown. The six-piece musical collective are influenced by Snoop Dogg, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Super Furry Animals and Red Hot Chili Peppers and are comprised of singer Francesco Orsi, bassist Ben Thorne, drummer Tom Fry, keyboardist Daniel ‘Nanial’ Jones and singing guitarists David Bassey and Elliot Bradfield.

JOHN COFFEY, Jungle By Night, Cloud Nothings naar Dauwpop

Op 2 en 3 juni voegt Dauwpop John Coffey, Jungle By Night, Cloud Nothings, CIEL, The Jordan en 90s VS zer00s toe aan de line-up

Bij de nieuwe namen springt vooral John Coffey eruit aangezien de band nog maar net bekend heeft gemaakt weer samen te spelen. Ze staan dit jaar op vrijdag in Hellendoorn.

De kaarten voor de zaterdag met onder meer The Opposites, Franz Ferdinand en Goldband zijn inmiddels voor ruim 70% over de digitale toonbank gegaan, voor de vrijdag met onder andere The Prodigy, Madrugada, Son Mieux en de vandaag bekend gemaakte John Coffey zijn nog wat meer kaarten beschikbaar. Naast reguliere tickets zijn er nog een handvol CJP en junior tickets beschikbaar.

Camping WAUD
De organisatie maakt het de bezoekers die beide dagen in de bossen van Hellendoorn te vinden zijn zo makkelijk mogelijk. Zo is er officiële festivalcamping WAUD die van alle gemakken voorzien is en kunnen minder geoefende kampeerders ook voor het ultieme gemak van een vooropgezette tent gaan. Acts die al eerder bekend werden gemaakt zijn o.a.
