Pinguin Showcase in Discords Nijmegen met The Deaf Dollars + The Giant Low

Zaterdagmiddag 2 december is het weer zover: de vijfde Pinguin Hotspot in Nijmegen! En niet, zoals je misschien verwacht, in een poppodium of in een kroeg. Nee, het wordt livemuziek in een platenzaak, middenin de binnenstad: Discords.nl

De optredens zijn ongeveer tussen 14:30/15:15 en 15:45/16:30. Bovendien kun je tussen de optredens door op meerdere verdiepingen rondkijken in het grote aanbod platen en cd’s.

Entree is natuurlijk gratis, dus kom gezellig langs in de winkel!

The Deaf Dollars

The Deaf Dollars is a rockband invented by three lifetime friends. With their enormous suitcases of experience they find now is the time to take everything to the max and full throttle on their musical capabilities and keep pushing. Communication with the audience and passion and love for creating music is key to making their music and pushing this around the world.Rock combined with theatrical emotional melodies and the sounds of the 80’s is why The Deaf Dollars stick out. With legends like Prince, David Bowie, Queen and Lenny Kravitz as their teachers you will get drawn into a professional live performance you won’t forget.

With Swedish frontman Malte Olsson, The Giant Low delivers alternative rock in the tradition of his homeland’s melancholy, melodic and dark mood. 5th December 2022 The Giant Low released their second EP ‘Amazone’, a special mini concept-album. 2021 they released the EP ‘Wonderful and dark”.

Bayline – I Choose Love

Bayline’s debut album is full of catchy, melodic, raw, punk and rock tracks with a touch of emo. Ranging from more punk tracks to slower rock tracks all brought with the same punch, appealing to a wide range of rock music fans. The songs on this album are a reflection on the current and past state of society. But it also contains more personal tracks addressing anxiety, depression and choosing your own path. The band saw a common theme throughout the songs and that was LOVE. You can lose yourself in all the negativity and your own (negative) thoughts but I CHOOSE LOVE.

The album has been released, November 24th, in collaboration with Suburban Records and Flight 13.

Emotion, It’s In The Moment – Neoncoloredpixels Newest Release

Charis aka Neoncoloredpixels is an upcoming talented artist. Neoncoloredpixels makes her own music productions since she was 13 years old. With a father as a computer engineer, she discovered the possibilities to work with trackers and started to experiment with different software.

Since 2022 Neoncoloredpixels is publishing her music as Neoncoloredpixels to the audience.
“Emotion” is Neoncoloredpixels’ promising latest release. The track has a Middle Eastern touch. The bombastic violins make the listener join the emotional journey. The latest track of Neoncoloredpixels is inspired by music of artists like Aphex Twin, Bjork, Portishead and Massive Attack.

Pinguin Radio Showcase in Slachthuis Haarlem met Staplers, Lowaddicts, New Exhibit

Komt allen, komt allen. 24 november 2023

Drie nieuwe Penguin Artists op het podium van De Drie Gezusters in Groningen. Zoals je van ons gewend bent, hebben we weer een leuke selectie gemaakt van drie totaal verschillende acts.

Zorg dus dat je erbij bent, vanaf 20:30 uur ‘s avonds tot de late uurtjes. De entree is zoals altijd gratis en neem je handen mee want er moet geclapt worden! De winnaar van de avond krijgt zoals het hoort een plekje op Pinguin Radio Showcases tijdens ESNS.

Entree is natuurlijk gratis, dus kom gezellig langs in het hippe Slachthuis. Line-up van de avond:

The young three-piece band STAPLERS is an unfiltered source of alt-rock energy.

Born in the summer of ‘22 the band jumps their catchy riffs into thorough choruses under a wave of flowing basslines, ecstatic drums and lyrical resilience.

A powerful, warm electronica-act that moves between house, pop and trip-hop: that’s the best way to describe Lowaddicts. The typical Lowaddicts-ambiance gives you the urge to dance but also the feeling of dreaming away on a warm summer night. Dillan, Maaike and Tessa, all coming from different musical backgrounds, combined their forces, resulting in the Lowaddicts-sound.
