Pinguin Radio Showcase in Slachthuis Haarlem met Catarina Rodrigues, VOZ en Jake W. Styles and his Stylesbrigade

Komt allen, komt allen. 22 december 2023.

Drie nieuwe Penguin Artists op het podium van Slachthuis in Haarlem. Zoals je van ons gewend bent, hebben we weer een leuke selectie gemaakt van drie totaal verschillende acts.

Zorg dus dat je erbij bent, vanaf 20:00 uur ‘s avonds tot de late uurtjes. De entree is zoals altijd gratis en neem je handen mee want er moet geclapt worden! De winnaar van de avond krijgt zoals het hoort een plekje op Pinguin Radio Showcases tijdens ESNS.

Entree is natuurlijk gratis, dus kom gezellig langs in het hippe Slachthuis. Line-up van de avond:

Catarina Rodrigues (26) is a Pop, Urban singer/songwriter based in The Netherlands. Catarina is known for making honest & varied songs about everyday topics such as love, heartbreak, personal growth & mental health. With her own unique voice & the honest lyrics, she knows how to touch people & take them into her story. Catarina used to combine Dutch & English in her songs, but now she wants to focus on making English songs.

VOZ is een Nederlandstalige indiepopband uit Haarlem met een mix van elektrorock, jazz en 80s-sound, die staat in een lange traditie van tekst-georiënteerde liedjes van Frank Boeijen tot Eefje de Visser. Leden: zanger/bassist Cor Vos, gitarist/toetsenist Rory van den Bergh en drummer/vocalist Gerrie Spaansen.

22:15 Jake W. Styles and his Stylesbrigade

Al van kinds af aan wordt hij aangetrokken door het podium en hij doet zijn eerste optreden wanneer hij 8 jaar oud is. Eind jaren negentig tekent hij met zijn band Beyond93 een contract bij Columbia Records (Sony Music) en brengt hij het album Stop looking back! uit, dat goede kritieken krijgt. Jaren van vele optredens in binnen- en buitenland volgen. Jake is de zanger/gitarist en schrijft alle songs voor de band. Jake speelt na Beyond93 in diverse bands, waar hij ook de meeste muziek voor schrijft, meestal in de rol van lead gitarist. Maar, hij wil altijd nog een eigen plaat maken… December 2022 – Jake brengt zijn langgekoesterde droom in vervulling. Met hulp van top-producer Menno Bakker (o.a. NRA, Human Alert, Undeclinable Ambuscade), neemt hij zijn eerste soloplaat op en brengt die uit.

You Make Me Feel

This is a pop rock song. You Make Me Feel was written by Grace (vocalist) for her two children and together with guitarist and producer Edgar Grimaldos they made it into a beautiful song. The lyrics are very emotional and touching, because it represents the purest love, as love for children is, of whom we always feel protective. This song caught the attention of several international radio stations and media outlets.

Pinguin Showcase in Discords Nijmegen met The Deaf Dollars + The Giant Low

Zaterdagmiddag 2 december is het weer zover: de vijfde Pinguin Hotspot in Nijmegen! En niet, zoals je misschien verwacht, in een poppodium of in een kroeg. Nee, het wordt livemuziek in een platenzaak, middenin de binnenstad: Discords.nl

De optredens zijn ongeveer tussen 14:30/15:15 en 15:45/16:30. Bovendien kun je tussen de optredens door op meerdere verdiepingen rondkijken in het grote aanbod platen en cd’s.

Entree is natuurlijk gratis, dus kom gezellig langs in de winkel!
