Dada’s Troost releases “Time Of Need”

The single Times of need is the successor to their single Visit From A Friend, which was released March 17th 2023. Where Visit From A Friend was about reflecting on the past, this song is about the here and now. The song describes the short period of bliss when one is clean for a few days.

“It is always a moment of high energy, excitement, creativity and big plans. But on the other hand, there is always the risk and even the acceptance that there will be a relapse” Musically, Times of Need can best be described as an Alt-Rock song with a strong 90’s vibe, mixing electro, rock and funk-rock.

The combination of uplifting composition and dark vocals creates a melancholy atmosphere.

Home by Noël is about finding peace – whether it’s with people or at a place.

After years of experience as a conservatory educated jazz vocalist, it was time for a change. Noël is now using her skills to write songs with house and dance influences. She wrote together with other artists such as Lomalo and collaborated with producer Rowen Reecks.

Noël proves that electronic music can be combined with catchy and easy listening melodies. The electronic productions stand in bold contrast with the light timbre of her voice. The lyrics contain millennial related subjects, and the vibe is feminine and raw.

Noël van de Wiel (1994) is a Dutch singer based in Amsterdam. She started singing because of her musical father. At the age of eleven, she was in the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands. During her entire secondary school years, she took lessons at the Junior Jazz College, a young talent course at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Subsequently, she successfully completed the bachelor jazz/pop at the Conservatory of Utrecht. Because of the focus on jazz and improvisation, she has built years of experience as a jazz singer in the circuit. But Noël isn’t shy of a party and couldn’t resist writing her own music in another genre and see people dance to her songs.

After a turbulent time in her live, Noël came to live in another part of Amsterdam. The A’DAM tower depicted on the cover of the song, is an iconic building for Amsterdam, which she can see from her home. Home is a song about finding peace -whether it’s with people or at a place.

Raoul & the Wisemen – Hurricane

Nederlandse band knalt Sloveense zomer in

Een zomertour samen met een bekende schrijver en een Nobelprijs genomineerde in Slovenië? Het overkomt Raoul & the Wisemen. Daarnaast brengt de Amsterdamse band op Bevrijdingsdag hun nieuwe single Hurricane uit.

‘Grappig hoe iets kan lopen’ zegt frontman Raoul Wijsma. ‘Ik kende Noah als schrijver van een boek over Slovenië. Op een dag heb ik hem een bericht gestuurd’. Het bleek een goede zet. Charney werkt op dit moment samen met historica en Nobelprijs genomineerde Svetlana Slapšak aan een boek over Slavische mythes en legendes. De 75-jarige professor is een autoriteit op dat gebied. De band heeft een van de verhalen uit het boek, De Waterman Legende, op muziek gezet. Het optreden wordt een combinatie van poëzie, spoken word en muziek. Op dit moment staan er onder andere optredens gepland op het bekende festival Kamfest en de alternatieve hotspot ‘Metelkova’ in het centrum van Ljubljana.

Bevrijdingssingle

Ook in Nederland laat Raoul & the Wisemen van zich horen. De band begint het seizoen met de release van hun nieuwe single Hurricane. ‘Dit doen we speciaal op Bevrijdingsdag, omdat het nummer gaat over het doorbreken van je eigen patronen en het vinden van vrijheid. De storm is een metafoor voor alle gedachten die je kunt hebben.’ Hurricane is een energieke popsong met stuwende groove, waarbij ook de liefde van de band voor pakkende melodieën naar voren komt. Voor de productie werkte Raoul & the Wisemen samen met producers Jan David Hoogerheide (EUT, Kovacs) en Iwen Legro (Tape Toy).

Na de release volgen er optredens in het openluchttheater van het Amstelpark in Amsterdam op 7 mei en speelt de band op het Come out and Play festival in Oss op 13 mei. Auxr – Try (featuring PHUONG)

A 15 year veteran of the nu-disco and italo scene with many releases, remixes and international DJ gigs as Auxiliary tha Masterfader, producer Aux introduces a new downtempo project as part of a personal search for the sound that defines him today.

In 2021, Aux rediscovered his love for downtempo sounds & tracks released by labels like Mo’ Wax, Wall of Sound and Warp. This new chapter in his career resulted in a new alias, AUXR and the Suite of Flow EP release in the summer of 2022. The three instrumental tracks, ‘Canada’, ‘Dope’ and ‘Enjoy the Sounds’ are filled with organic trip hop beats, deep bass lines, legato synths & strings woven into a warm and slightly distorted production.

Captivated by the power of collaborations, AUXR is working on separate single releases with outstanding talented singers. The first single was Plastic Love, written in collaboration with Icelandic singer Stina Ágústsdóttir and released in February 2023.

His second single release of 2023 is a collaboration with singer PHUONG from electronic pop act DARKDAYS. Emotive pads lay the foundation for “Try”, a dark, downtempo trip-hop track about a woman on a quest to the unknown. A song reminiscent of Portishead, Massive Attack and other contemporaries. Promotion will include an international PR campaign including playlisting. High end production makes this perfect for your Trip Hop playlist.

Bugginout is going into hybernation.. we have been organising non stop since 26th of november last year. so we’ve decided to take a rest period.

The Others

Postcards From Mars announces sophomore album ‘ego death’ and releases first single in 5 years ‘The Others’ today.

Five years after the last singles ‘Swallow’ and ‘The Whale’, Postcards From Mars announces his sophomore album ‘ego death’, set to be released May 12, 2023. Bart van Dalen’s new material dives deep into his psyche with a new vulnerability and more urgent sound, opening up a window into his insecurities, bouts of depression and the magical workings of creativity. Cathartically, what is inside comes crawling out.

The first double single of the new album is called ‘The Others’ and is out everywhere today. A-side ‘The Others’ is a forward driven song about comparison, self-will and criticism.

The sound reminds one of Kevin Morby or Cass McCombs. The single also features an adventurous B- side called ‘Himalaya’. Side by side, the two songs give us a sweet inkling of what the full length album might sound like. After a couple years of intensively writing and touring with his other music project Donna Blue, Van Dalen got the restless itch to work on his solo material again.

Together with friend and producer Roy van Rosendaal he set off to finish the collection of songs that will make up the very personal second album ‘ego death’.
