Organisator Bas Barnasconi maakt de winnaar bekend: in Den Haag in de Zwarte Ruiter is er het meest geclapt voor Color Bones. Het gebouw van de Tweede Kamer trilt nog na.. 😉

De Utrechtse indierockband Color Bones gaan we terug zien op Pinguin Radio Showcases in Groningen tijdens ESNS. Gefeliciteerd! Dat kan zomaar een enorme stap in hun muzikale dromen betekenen.

“Color Bones staat en klinkt als een huis”, aldus iemand uit het publiek. De stage manager van de Zwarte Ruiter vult aan: “ze moesten last minute invallen voor een band met een dubbel gebroken been, dan is dit een hele mooie beloning!“.

Emotion, It’s In The Moment – Neoncoloredpixels Newest Release

Charis aka Neoncoloredpixels is an upcoming talented artist. Neoncoloredpixels makes her own music productions since she was 13 years old. With a father as a computer engineer, she discovered the possibilities to work with trackers and started to experiment with different software.

Since 2022 Neoncoloredpixels is publishing her music as Neoncoloredpixels to the audience.
“Emotion” is Neoncoloredpixels’ promising latest release. The track has a Middle Eastern touch. The bombastic violins make the listener join the emotional journey. The latest track of Neoncoloredpixels is inspired by music of artists like Aphex Twin, Bjork, Portishead and Massive Attack.

Pinguin Radio Showcase in Slachthuis Haarlem met Staplers, Lowaddicts, New Exhibit

Drie nieuwe Penguin Artists op het podium van De Drie Gezusters in Groningen. Zoals je van ons gewend bent, hebben we weer een leuke selectie gemaakt van drie totaal verschillende acts.

Zorg dus dat je erbij bent, vanaf 20:30 uur ‘s avonds tot de late uurtjes. De entree is zoals altijd gratis en neem je handen mee want er moet geclapt worden! De winnaar van de avond krijgt zoals het hoort een plekje op Pinguin Radio Showcases tijdens ESNS.

Entree is natuurlijk gratis, dus kom gezellig langs in het hippe Slachthuis. Line-up van de avond:

The young three-piece band STAPLERS is an unfiltered source of alt-rock energy.

Born in the summer of ‘22 the band jumps their catchy riffs into thorough choruses under a wave of flowing basslines, ecstatic drums and lyrical resilience.

A powerful, warm electronica-act that moves between house, pop and trip-hop: that’s the best way to describe Lowaddicts. The typical Lowaddicts-ambiance gives you the urge to dance but also the feeling of dreaming away on a warm summer night. Dillan, Maaike and Tessa, all coming from different musical backgrounds, combined their forces, resulting in the Lowaddicts-sound.

FIEP – RU Reading?!

FIEP heeft zich afgelopen jaar drie slagen in de rondte gespeeld. Dat betaalt zich nu uit met een nieuwe single waarop Veerle ‘FIEP‘ Driessen welbewust en trefzeker overkomt. Zo van niemand maakt we wat.

Die schijt aan de buren mentaliteit spoort met de boodschap van het samen met Willem ‘Personal Trainer’ geschreven RU Reading?! Daarin rekent ze af met stigma’s en door dyslexie gevoede onzekerheid. RU Reading ?! is eens straf postpunkerig nummer vol spanning en energie. Knap gemaakt ook met al die percussieve geluidjes. Op naar EP 2 en een nieuwe tournee.

20:30 Maya Weber

Maya Weber is a twenty years old, Rotterdam-based artist. She finds her passion in writing, playing, and producing music. Maya grows inspiration from relatable situations she experiences as young adult. With her first single “Nachtclub” out, Maya is excited to release her second single “Enlarged pupil eyes”. “Enlarged pupil eyes” exhibit the feelings of excitement and euphoria when meeting someone new in a party setting. In her songs she likes to experiment with different synths, guitar riffs, and drum patterns to deliver an exact expression of how she feels. “When I make music, I find myself in a world I never want to leave”.

This three headed band from Amsterdam is similar to Cerberus but with way more hair and a lot more fluffy! As dusty as your mouth full of sand and as dry as your mouth after a couple of beers, thirsty! With a quirky combination of funky bass lines, tight drums and outer space guitar sounds this band pours a spectrum of songs into their own sound.

COLOR BONES is een indierock trio met Mo Assem op gitaar en vocals, Sjaak van Dam op drums, en Martijn Engels op bas. Het creatieve proces voltrekt zich in een oude bunker in Utrecht. In 2018 zag het eerste album genaamd Vermillion het licht. Het tweede album, Ultramarine, kwam in 2021 uit. In september 2023 is het derde album, genaamd Cadmium, uitgekomen. De eerste single van dit album, Borders, werd goed ontvangen met airplay op KinkFM en opname in playlists gecureerd door Spotify. COLOR BONES wordt beĂŻnvloed door Radiohead, Balthazar, Spoon en dEUS, maar haalt ook inspiratie uit skate-cultuur, improvisatie met hangdrums en synthesizers, visuele media, animatiefilms en filosofie. Altijd gepaard met mokken koffie, zwart als de mensheid zelf.

Solomon – Envelopes

Nieuwe Solomon single Envelopes heeft een hoog Editors gehalte, maar dat is alleen maar een voordeel. Want hoeveel liefhebbers zijn er niet van het gedragen ietwat donkere lied?

De eigenaar van de mooie sonore stem heet Koen de Witte. Koen is Solomon, maar Solomon is niet alleen Koen. Hij weet zich omringd door een uitgelezen clubje muzikanten waaronder toetsentovenaar Ido Ulmer. De standplaats van Solomon is Maastricht. Net als het begin dit jaar verschenen debuutalbum is ook Envelopes een productie van Christopher Elms (Bjork/Ben Howard/Alanis Morissette). Hij zorgde voor de international klank van Envelopes wat niet heel moeilijk moet zijn geweest gezien de hoge kwaliteit van het basismateriaal.
